Comparison

Moatify vs Apollo

Apollo is a sales intelligence and engagement platform built around a very large B2B contact database, with sequences, a dialer, and CRM features for sales teams.

Below is an honest comparison: where Apollo is genuinely the better fit, where Moatify is, and the facts behind both. Every claim about Apollo links to their own published pages.

Where Apollo wins

  • Database scale: Apollo advertises one of the largest B2B contact databases in the industry, with filters across title, industry, headcount, funding, and technology stack.
  • All-in-one for sales teams: sequences, a built-in dialer, meeting scheduling, deal tracking, and CRM integrations in one seat-based product.
  • A genuinely useful free tier for looking up a handful of contacts and testing sequences.
  • Mature ecosystem: integrations, API access, a Chrome extension, and years of documentation and community answers.
  • If your motion is a multi-SDR team working accounts at volume, Apollo is built for exactly that shape.

Where Moatify wins

  • Discovery from the live web instead of a static database: Moatify searches Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, Twitter/X, startup directories, Maps, and news sources for people showing your buying signals right now, and excludes everyone it has already found.
  • Research depth per prospect: an AI research agent reads what each person has published and said, extracts quotes and opinions, and the email references those specifics. Apollo personalizes with template variables.
  • The whole workflow, not just the top: research, writing, sending from your own inbox, reply classification, follow-ups, and calendar booking run as one supervised pipeline.
  • Flat pricing, not per seat: Moatify tiers are per account (Scale includes 10 seats), so adding a teammate does not change the bill.
  • Deliverability guardrails by default: warm-up ramping, domain health scoring with automatic pause, and a hard 50-per-day send ceiling designed for a founder domain that cannot afford to burn.

Common questions

Is Moatify a replacement for Apollo?

For a founder or small team running their own outbound, usually yes: Moatify covers discovery, research, writing, sending, follow-ups, and booking in one pipeline. For a large SDR team that lives in a shared database with a dialer and deal stages, Apollo remains the better shape. Some teams use both: Apollo as a lookup database, Moatify as the outbound engine. Moatify can even use Apollo as an optional supplementary discovery source.

Does Moatify have a contact database like Apollo?

No, and that is deliberate. Moatify discovers prospects from the live web at the moment they show your buying signals, rather than filtering a static database that every other Apollo customer is also emailing. The tradeoff is honest: Apollo can hand you 10,000 contacts in a minute; Moatify finds fewer people, with much more context on each.

Which is cheaper?

It depends on team size and plan. Apollo bills per user; Moatify bills per account with flat tiers from $0 to $399 per month, and the Scale tier includes 10 seats. At five seats on Apollo's mid plans the monthly totals land in the same range as Scale; at eight or ten seats Moatify's flat price usually wins. The real difference is what the dollars buy: database seats versus a research-and-writing pipeline. Check both pricing pages, since numbers change.

Can Moatify send as much volume as Apollo?

No. Moatify caps sending at 50 emails per day on every tier because that is the ceiling we consider sustainable for a single sending domain. Apollo supports higher-volume sequence sending for teams. If your strategy is maximum volume, Moatify is intentionally the wrong tool.

Do I need my own email account to use either?

Both send through your own mailbox. Moatify connects to any SMTP/IMAP provider (Gmail via app password, Outlook, Fastmail, your own server), warms it up gradually, and monitors the inbox for replies it then classifies and answers.
